Nine firearms missing from Deni home

Nine firearms have been reported missing from a Deniliquin home after a suspected break-in this week.

Police were called to the Hay Rd home about 7.30am Tuesday by the owner, who they confirmed has a current firearms’ licence.

Police also confirmed the guns had been kept in safes, according to the licence conditions.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Intruder restrained

A 39 year-old Deniliquin woman has been charged after being found inside a Deniliquin home on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the Charlotte St home about 3pm after the owner arrived home to find a woman inside.

The owner restrained the woman until police arrived.

She was arrested and charged with entering a dwelling with intent to commit a serious indictable offence, and remanded in custody pending a court appearance in Griffith yesterday.

The case had not been heard at the time the Pastoral Times went to print.
