Intereach Family Day Care will have extensive representation in the national 2020 Excellence in FDC awards.
The annual awards recognise the amazing work carried out by educators, coordinators and services in the FDC sector to deliver high quality early childhood education and care to children across Australia.
Deniliquin nominees in the category for Educator of the Year (NSW) are Annette Fisicaro, Lynda Grimison, Ashlee Huntly, Amanda Rhook and Tammy Townsend.
Marie Broadbent and Rebecca Fitzpatrick have both been nominated for Coordinator of the Year (NSW) and Intereach Family Day Care has been nominated for Service of the Year (NSW).
A further 17 Intereach FDC educators from Wagga Wagga, Moama, Finley, Berrigan, Echuca and Swan Hill have also been nominated for Educator of the Year in their respective states.
Intereach CEO Keryn Fox said the high number of nominations was testament to the quality of education and care provided by the organisation’s FDC service.
‘‘I would like to personally congratulate every person who has been nominated, and the entire FDC team,’’ she said.
‘‘To have so many nominations is an outstanding achievement and I would like to extend best wishes to everyone involved in the awards.’’
Intereach Family Day Care offers nurturing home-based childcare for small groups of children with flexible and extended hours. FDC is available for babies and children under 13 across 12 communities in which Intereach operates.
Ms Fisicaro has been working in early childhood education for more than 20 years.
‘‘Above all my highest priority is meeting the daily care routines for children in my care, ensuring they are loved, feel safe, secure, settled and happy,’’ she said.
‘‘I aim to be part of a partnership that allows young children to emerge as competent and confident individuals . . . to love, cherish, nurture, care, educate and grow children in my care.’’
Nominees in the 2020 Excellence in Family Day Care awards are invited to make a supporting submission against specific questions, and once submissions are completed a number of judging phases take place.
Regional winners and star award winners will be announced on October 6, with national winners announced on November 21.
